Manson’s Crime Career Began In Indiana

NOBLESVILLE, IN., Dec. 15 – Charles Manson, 34, who is being questioned in the Sharon Tate murder began his crime career in Noblesville according to reports from the Noblesville Ledger. Manson was 15-years old when first arrested in Noblesville when he allegedly stole $90 and a gun from an uncle in Indianapolis where he had been living. He was taken to Indiana Boys School following his arrest and placed on parole from a previous offense. He escaped from the Plainfield school seven months later.

Later he escaped from Boys Town, Nebraska and robbed a supermarket of $2000. That incident began a series of police arrests that fill five pages of court records on Manson.

Reports in the Noblesville Police Department do not go back as far as 1950 thus giving no indication of where the 15-year old Manson was arrested or what circumstance.
